RFP #: DSU 12-02
PURPOSE
The selected organization will assist Dakota State University’s Center for Advancement of Health IT (CAHIT) and Dakota State University’s HealthPOINT (South Dakota Regional Extension Center for Health IT) provide secure, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant hosting services in both a managed services and dedicated environment.
The selected organization will operate a HIPAA compliant Disaster Recovery Site located in Madison, South Dakota. Successful vendor will also provide encrypted data at rest and encrypted data in transit HIPAA compliant (HITECH 2009) healthcare-only hosting services to HealthPOINT member providers. Healthcare providers in SD desire these services as an alternative to site hosted and non-healthcare specific hosting services with no presence in South Dakota.

The selected organization will assist DSU/CAHIT’s HealthPOINT (South Dakota Regional Extension Center for Health IT) by providing risk assessment methodologies, tools, and training to develop a comprehensive risk management program for primary care clinics that become members of HealthPOINT.
This program will create a comprehensive, individualized plan for each facility to eliminate the gap between current state and meaningful use requirements.
